The space in Carey’s Cave gives us the opportunity to explore different aspects of the cave environment
in a much closer manner than normally permitted. We have established display tables where not only can students
pick up and handle samples of different types of crystal formations but can also carry out different activities,
depending on their interests and the time available.


         All kids love getting a really close look at
crystal, rocks and fossils and learning about their different characteristics. Hands–on opportunities
are an exciting adventure in the cave environment 		 


 
GROW - A- CAVE

One of the activities we have for our Australian Science Festival tours uses our original cave kit with which you can grow
stalactites and stalagmites in minutes.  This is usually done
in pairs and promotes a range of skills and cooperation.
 


AND WHAT DO THE KIDS THINK?


   
We can address geology, fossils, cave chemistry, cave climatology:
we have also enjoyed dramatic role playing, music and sensory exploration.
